How To Set The Date On A Tissot Watch
Everyday someone brings in their spotter considering their watch is set wrong.
People get frustrated and don't know how to change it.
"It's always off!"
Either the appointment changes at noon instead of midnight, or the twenty-four hours is off, or the language is in Spanish (like in the pic, Lun – brusk for Lunes, is Spanish for Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fri, Sat and Dominicus are: Martes, Miercoles, Jueves, Viernes, Sabado and Domingo. So if you see those, you're seeing Spanish.)
Don't fret…
It'southward easier to fix than you lot recall.
The good affair is, changing the date and setting the day is a cakewalk. All it takes is a couple of pulls and a couple of twists and you lot'll be good to go.
It's all in the stalk:
The stem of your watch is that little ridged knob on the side of your sentinel face. If you pull that stem out all the way, you lot tin spin it and it volition spin the minute easily and hour hands so that you tin set the time on your watch. Most people already know this…
So if you know that much, you lot're on the correct track.
The funny thing is:
Y'all pulled too much.
Yous come across, on watches that have a day and a date, the stem has a dual purpose. It controls all the settings.
Then to change the day and appointment of your picket, pull the stem out slowly…
(Note that if yous have a waterproof spotter, you lot'll need to unscrew the stem counter-clockwise first, which is towards y'all, until it unlocks, then y'all can pull the stalk out as described to change the day, appointment.)
One Snap Two:
This is what yous need to do… Pull the stem out slowly and heed for the snap (the stalk stops on the commencement notch). If y'all pull the stem out all the manner, it snaps twice and ends upwards on the second notch (see picture show below). That 2d notch is where the stalk needs to exist to prepare the time (but you already knew that).
The first notch is the hole-and-corner!
The key to setting the day and date is the first notch, or first snap.
In the showtime notch position, yous'll see that if you lot spin the crown one manner, it will alter the solar day. Spin it in the opposite direction and it changes the date.
English or Spanish?
Do go on in mind that you may have to spin the day and engagement a couple of rotations because it most likely will alternate between English and Spanish. Just pick the right language for you lot and it'south done. When the twenty-four hours and engagement are set, push the stem in all the style and relish your spotter.
If you yet have the problem with your lookout man changing dates at apex instead of midnight, that just means you're on the incorrect 12 60 minutes bicycle (it's set up for twelve at nighttime instead of twelve at apex). All you demand to do is pull the stem all the way out, (second notch) and spin the minute and hour hands ahead 12 hours. If it'due south twelve o'clock, spin it alee until it's twelve o'clock again. Doing that will put the spotter on the correct 12 hour cycle.
Granted, you may have to reset your twenty-four hour period and appointment once again since you just advanced, but at least you'll exist in the correct time zone now.
Cheers! :)
